One of the accessories I don’t have in my wardrobe are shoes. I have 2 sets of black flats, and a pair of running shoes. My major problem is that I have small narrow feet, so those gorgeous pumps, stilettos and sexy sandals dont come in my size. I wear a children’s 2 which translates into a woman’s 4-5. However, they are wide and so unless I use crazy glue and glue my feet into the shoe, I’m going to walk out of it and fall ass over tea kettle on my face. So for 25 years, I have struggled in silence. Until now…..
At the end of January this year, I went on a shoe hunt. I hit 4 shoe stores in the London Ontario area and came up empty handed. I then drove to Brantford to check out their shoe stores and found Al’s Shoe Store on King George Rd.
They sell medium designer shoes, along with Nike, Adidas, etc. I went to the women’s section and poured out my frustration on shoe sizing. The young sales associate came back with 4 boxes of black patent pumps. I stared at her in disbelief. My hopes were starting to rise. For the next hour I became the step sister to Cinderella, trying on shoes that didn’t quite fit. Until the associate brought out her last box. EUREKA!!!!!! I found the most gorgeous set of black patent pumps I have seen this side of the 80’s. Its been atleast 30 years since I wore high heels and when I stood up in them I toppled over the little sales associate. Then I started walking. Oh my stars!! I’m in heaven. We spent the next 2 hours adding to my shoe collection. I walked out with 4 pairs of shoes. High heel pumps, low heel pumps, beautiful flats and are you ready… ankle boots. I just couldn’t leave that opportunity behind. These shoes will last me years and I now have a wonderful shoe collection for any occasion.
